Why GSM Actually Matters

GSM stands for grams per square metre. It simply measures the weight and density of a fabric. The higher the GSM, the thicker and more substantial the garment feels. You notice it straight away in the hand. It has weight to it. It does not feel thin or disposable.
A heavier fabric holds its structure properly. It sits on the body with shape instead of clinging or collapsing. Collars stay firm. Hoods keep their form. Tees hang clean through the shoulders and chest. You are not constantly adjusting it or watching it lose shape after a few washes.
Weight also affects warmth and comfort. Denser cotton blocks wind better and keeps heat in without needing extra layers. In England, where most of the year is cool, damp, or grey, that matters. You are not dressing for extreme heat. You are dressing for in between weather that rarely feels fully warm.
This is why we focus on heavyweight fabrics across our tees, hoodies and joggers. They are built to last, built to hold shape, and built for the climate we actually live in. You get something that feels solid every time you put it on, not something that fades out after a season.
